Hello.

I prefer these kinds of advertisments somehow.
I guess i'd rather see a pro at work rather than some kids, teens or stylish persons using such things.
Essentially the things advertised are professional equipments.
Like mobile phones, cameras, video cameras and such.
I mean, for things like barbie dolls, wouldn't you like to see a child playing it, not Angelina Jolie or Jessica Alba?
Haha.

Peace.

Hullo.

Credits to Wayne for the picture.
Haha.
That picture was of me during Prom Nite yesterday.
:D
Note the slouch.
Well I regret the slouch now, It's killing me shoulders and back.
So I spent 4 straight hours filming non-stop.
Endurance isn't really my forte'...
Hence, the video was very jerky.
Because there was a need to change the angles.
To tilt the camera up and down and to pan.
In some instances my tilts were sharp.
Causing the video to be jerky.
And I did shift the camera about here and there.
Which very likely made the video stink.
To make matters worse, I hadn't a clue that the camera was recording DV(Digital Video) , not HDV (High Definition Video).
So yeah, total screw up.
I started off at Bukit Batok MRT.
Met one of my team-mates first.
Not really sure what his name is. :D
So then clambered into Mr Yew's car with Shao Wei and the other guy.
Afrinah turned up few mintues later.
Made our way to Furama City Hotel.
Went to the ballroom.
Real nice place.
Set up the tripod and the camera.
Using my D90 at ISO setting of 6400, the maximum shutter speed was still 1/8th of a second.
Which totally stank, since it meant lighting was real crappy.
ISO is light sensitivity of a camera, for you folks who don't know.
1/8th of a second is rather slow, so motion can't be captured.
:D
So yeah, spent the next 4 hours recording non stop.
Didn't sit until after the event.
Overall i think it was quite fun.
Because well, the Emcee was fun and so were the attendees.
Really awesome. Seriously.
Haha.
Wayne, David and Zaki showed up halfway through.
Wayne and Zaki took the cameras.

There was this one occasion...
I was adjusting the Tripod...
When suddenly the Video camera swung forward.
Which totally SCARED me.
Tried to save the camera.
And I did.
But it also meant that the legs of the tripod snapped shut.
It caught my thumb.
WHICH TOTALLY HURT.

At the end of the day, I had hurt my foot, my ankle, my shoulders, my thumb, my back and my neck.
:D

Mr Yew nagged at me throughout.
He wanted it to be perfect.
He's gonna be sooooo pissed.
:D

Went home with Ms Chua, Mr Yew, Shao Wei and the other guy.
:D

Mr Yew gave me free cakes as thanks for recording non-stop.
But he's still gonna be very, very, very pissed.

Dayum.

Peace.

Hello.

This week seems to contrast very well with last week.
Where last week was a real drag,
This week has passed really quickly.
Seriously.
I haven't a clue why.
Maybe because there's less math, more geography?
Hehehe.
I find myself loving Sciences and Humanities a lot.
Even though i'm not really good at them.
:D
Excluding biology.
I though biology was interesting.
But we're studying plants and respiration.
Which is considerably DULL.
Whatever.

So I guess that's been all?
That i'm willing to share of course.
:D

Anyway, my musical database is expanding!
Thanks to all them "Idol" shows.
Haha.
Here's the number Sezairi did yesterday,

Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity
And my taste is becoming more and more like Sezairi's.
Hahahaha.
FAIZAL WENT HOME!!!
Next up, Charles.
:D

Peace.

Just my opinion.

1.Fathin (Vocally the best)
2.Sylvia (Very good as well)
3.Sezairi (Best performer)
4.Tabitha (Good vocally, but dull performances)
5.Mae (Meh. I liked her a lot. haha.)
6.Justin (Best male vocals i think. But VERY dull.)
7.Huda (No Comment)
8.Duane (Okay singer I guess)
9.Malaque (No Comment either)
10.Syltra (Didn't see much of her to know her real potential but still better than...)
11.Faizal (Not really good vocally, but tries to be entertaining. Very appealing to young girls)
12.Charles (Acceptable on the occasion. Gimmicky and very weak vocally)
13.Farhan (Weakest vocalist on the show)

That's my analysis of course.
I doubt anyone agrees.

Hullo!

So.
I feel self-centred today.
I shall post about what i want!
(Heck, a lot of my posts are. haha. YEA I'M SELF-CENTRED!!)

So.
I've been going nuts about lenses recently.
I've decided I only want four lenses.
A (70/80)-200mm f/2.8 zoom
Any Ultra-Wideangle DX lens.
A 50mm f/(1.4/1.8)
The Nikkor 18-55mm lens.

Why?
Well, the f/2.8 zoom for portraiture and sports.
Basically for things that need to be cropped or are faraway.
The Ultra-Wide DX since when I want wide-shots I really do GO for wide shots.
I barely use the 24-(70/80) range anyway.
The 50mm for low-light situations.
And when I need a small lens.
The 18-55 would serve the same purpose.
When i need a small lens.
A candid zoom, if you may.
Haha.

Actually, the 18-105mm lens i have is really all i need.
Decent telephoto.
Decent wideangle.
The only thing is it isn't fast.
Being a photographer...
To compensate for it not being close enough i just move close.
To compensate for it not being wide enough I just move further way.

Oh well.
Every human has his wants.
Woots!

Peace.

Hello.

So.
I stumbled upon a photographer.
Goes by the name of Karl Grobl.
The man's a Photojournalist and a Humanitarian.
Looking through his works, it makes me wonder what life as a humanitarian would be like.
He does a write-up for some of his pages.
I love his works.
And...I think i wanna follow in his footsteps.
HOWEVER.
I feel like taking up medical studies first.
So I can be a photojournalist, a humanitarian and a doctor.
Then i can be like on the scene all the time.
And I can
So i get to combine my ambitions and my hobby.
Yay!
Haha.
Anyway...
Here's a really chill song Azmee introduced to me.
(Even though i introduced the Artist to him. haha.)

John Mayer - Slow Dancing In A Burning Room

Real nice song to groove along to.
Makes me wanna learn how to play the guitar.
Electric.
And not basic strumming.
Like my brother-man, Nik.

Peace.

Hullo.

They say that you shouldn't EVER try anything you don't need.
Why?
Because once you try it, the likelihood of you liking it is great.
Once you like it, eventually you'll start craving it since you can't have it.
Then once you get it, after a while you realise what a horrible mistake you made.
Then you go out, try something else and the cycle repeats itself.

Not like I did do that or anything.
Haha.
Just a bit of random-ness.
:D
So.
I've been itching to try out film photography.
But to get started, I need a film camera.
So after much research, I decided that...
The type of camera i'm looking for is a Rangefinder camera.
Not an SLR camera. A Rangefinder camera.
An SLR camera is a Single Lens Reflex camera.
This type of camera uses a mirror system to provide a VERY accurate view through the viewfinder.
The pros of having such a camera is that there isn't any shutter lag.
You just press the release and the mirror + shutter flip up to expose the film.
The cons is that it's very noisy.
This isn't very good for street photography.
Why?
The noise made by the movement of the mirror would VERY likely ensure that your subject is aware of what you're doing, which is NOT what you want.
A rangefinder camera uses a rangefinder to gauge the distance of your subject.
Using this information, you can gauge focus even though the viewfinder and film/sensor are not connected.
It uses a type of shutter called a leaf shutter, which spins around to expose the film, not flip up, hence there isn't much sound.
The specific cameras i'm hunting for are the Yashica Electro 35 GSN or the Olympus Trip 35.
These are Rangefinder cameras with fixed lenses.
The Yashica needs the use of a mercury cell which no longer exists out of safety reasons while the Trip doesn't need batteries at all.
The whole point is, I need a FAST, WORKING film camera.
Donations are EXTREMELY welcome.
Please?

Peace.
